Chapter Two—Visual Harmony
The collection features hours and minutes indicated by diamond-cut, solid gold hands, with seconds at 6 o’clock, date at 12 o’clock, and day and month spelled out on their respective rollers.
This stunningly elegant timepiece is recognized as the world’s most legible triple calendar wristwatch. Crafting the remarkably efficient and reliable system for Chapter Two’s groundbreaking roller-driven mechanism (displaying month and day) demanded unparalleled technical prowess and inventiveness.
Peter Speake-Marin, & Daniel Roth
Peter Speake-Marin, who worked with Mr. Claret on Chapter One, Chapter Two represents a second opportunity to express his knowledge of fine watchmaking’s historical traditions and to convey his belief in its future.
Daniel Roth marks his half-century in watchmaking with his first collaboration for Maîtres du Temps, noting that, “It is totally unlike anything that any of us would have done alone but is the result of us working together.”
Chapter Three Reveal—A Revelation
Chapter Three Reveal is an elegant, classically round timepiece displaying central hours and minutes, small seconds at 8 o’clock, date at 2 o’clock, and moon phase at 4 o’clock, all set on a sumptuous guilloche dial.
With its unique design and an ingenious mechanism, the Chapter Three Reveal is a masterpiece of elegant sophistication and a timepiece that tells its own secret. A pusher set into the crown lowers and hides two hidden panels in the dial to reveal a second time zone at 6 o’clock and day/night indicators at 12 o’clock, both displayed on Maîtres du Temps’ signature rollers.
Kari Voutilainen & Andreas Strehler
Widely-respected independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen developed Chapter Three Reveal’s complete movement architecture, designed the bridges and plates, specified the decoration, and was responsible for the superlative finishing of the movement, the first original calibre he has developed for another brand.
Highly-acclaimed watchmaker/constructor Andreas Strehler developed Chapter Three Reveal’s technical interface between movement, complication and case, including the ingenious ‘reveal’ opening/closing mechanism, in addition to devising innovative production methods and technical solutions.
