The perfume is powerfully evocative. Moments and milestones of our lives can be reminded and marked by to certain fragrances we wore or experienced on others. Special memories made can be relived by simply sniffing the fragrance we wore when it happened. Wearing an exquisite fragrance makes the wearer memorable especially if it is particularly fetching and alluring, well suited to the person on whom it lingers.

What is perfume? Briefly, perfume before 1320 began with an oil or animal fat base, used as body and hair lotions and pomades. With the discovery of the alcohol distillation technique perfected in Italy, it transformed perfumes which today a ‘perfume’ is a mixture of 22-30% essential oil in ethyl alcohol and water. Eau de cologne is made up of -5% essential oil in alcohol-water mixture. True perfumes are the most long lasting on the skin. Their higher price is due to the greater percentage of essential oils. The first alcohol-based perfume was produced in 1320 called ‘Hungary Water’, an alcohol-based extract of rosemary and lavender inspired by Queen Elizabeth of Hungary.
