Psst… Can you keep a secret? We’d like to let you in on one located in Paris! There are certain addresses in Paris that are scarcely spoken aloud, in an attempt to keep them secret, with the vain hope that only those well-versed in the Parisian lifestyle would ever come to know they exist. The Grand Hotel du Palais Royal is one such address, where past and present have been fused together to the delight of Parisians.

[pullquote]We love the sense of an immediate escape from the moment you enter the hotel. Every detail in the elegantly appointed rooms gracefully offers an make-yourself-at-home feel; a space that begs you to live in it and what an experience it is… savor the essence in the lighting that touches the room, the lovely textures, open space and gracious amenities. Lounge with a tea and read a book, or gaze out the window; luxuriate in the spacious bath and sink into the tub, smell the roses and enjoy something delicious.[/pullquote]

This magnificent 18th century mansion, neighbors the Louvre, the Tuileries Garden, the Place Vendôme and rue Saint-Honoré, part of which features in a listing of historical monuments, is located precisely where it should be, for those who love the Parisian way of life, in a district  where artists, artisans, antique dealers and fashion designers co-exist in harmonious balance.

The Grand Hotel du Palais Royal has taken it’s inspiration from the nearby Palais-Royal Garden with its unspoilt space within a small square; the spirit of a place where classical luxury meets luminous modernity, simultaneously elegant and welcoming.

In the lobby, different eras engage naturally. Commissioned from the Louvre cast workshop, busts of Voltaire, Rousseau, Buffon and Diderot converge around a custom-made center  table. Two Pol Bury etchings predate original engravings by Catherine Cazau.

Original Architecture, Special Design Features

Individually designed in keeping with the original architecture and around the majestic wrought iron staircase – at the foot of which thrones a giant trunk in use as a luggage storeeach of the 68 bedrooms has its own character. The bedrooms and the suites, looking over the place de Valois or the Ministry of Culture, some of which enjoy a balcony or a deck with views over the Palais-Royal Garden and the Sights of Paris, are light and comfortably furnished.

Restful, Delicate and Elegant Details

The Junior suites offer a delicate cocoon. Charcoals (Fragonard, Raphaël, Le Brun or Michel Ange) sit in harmony with the colored canvasses of Fitzia and highlight the pertinence of the furnishings. Each detail has been studiously selected in terms of rest, functionality (there are real dressing rooms) and well-being: frosted glass sliding doors lead to the calm of a bathroom carrying a range of Carita products.
